The Things We've Handed Down

This is probably one of my favorite songs of all times and I think of it during moments like tonight.  William put on his doggie costume and was dancing around the house.  The thing is, it wasn't really 'his' costume.  My Grandmother made it for my dad probably 60 years ago and I wore it, my brother wore it and now both of my children have worn it.  That says something about my grandmother's handiwork I think!  William thinks this costume is the best and wanted to wear it to bed tonight.  Dad prevailed saying the costume was too fragile to be allowed in the bed with the thrasher.  Good call Dad!  I have included William's picture from tonight and Erin wearing the costume back in 2005 (yes, she wore it when she was 2 1/2 and he is wearing it at 3 1/2).  I hope Peter still fits into it next year!!
