It's Halloween!!

From October 2009
We started off our day with pumpkin pancakes (thank you Trader Joe's) and carving pumpkins.  The kids decided to paint some pumpkins as well, which made it even more fun.  Usually they are bored out of their minds as we do all the cutting.  This year both kids were more capapble and participated in cleaning out the pumpkin, washing the seeds and deciding on the face.  Erin drew a great picture that I think I did a pretty good job copying.

We had to take a short detour to Wheaton for our H1N1 vaccinations and out to lunch but once we were home it was game on!  The kids got bundled up and we headed out with Allison to trick or treat in the neighborhood.

The kids made it down Middaugh and around to Linscott (thanks to the lady on Linscott for the religious brochures and no candy - I think that constitutes a trick).  Jim and Jeff joined us up the Middaugh block but then William pooped out and wanted to go home to had out candy.  He and Jim had a fun time waiting for the trick or treaters, they only wished there were more.  We were pretty surprised that it was so slow.  Since it was a Saturday we had purchased more candy than usual thinking it would be really busy.

Here is a picture of William trick or treating at our house!

Christine and I headed out again with the girls after a short break and headed south on Middaugh.  We ran into lots of other kids that Erin knew from school.  This picture is of Gaja (short blond hair) & Mantas (on our block), Renee Force (another Kindergartener) and Ava Polcaster.  The weather was chilly but beautiful and the leaves were glowing.  We had a really bad windstorm with night before so many of the leaves had fallen.

This picture is one of our last stops.  It was a darling house on Oakwood and the woman had her dog tied out, in costume, sitting by the basket of candy.  I couldn't resist this picture!
