Valentine's Day Project

At Immanuel Lutheran Preschool every year the children decorate shoe boxes to collect their Valentine's from their friends.  This is a sweet tradition and I remember having such a fun time watching Erin create hers when she was in the 3 year old class.  This year I kept putting it off because I worried that it would be a chore.  William really doesn't enjoy sitting at the craft table and doing much more than scribbling on a piece of paper.  This could be a very challenging project.  But surprisingly he was very excited to do his box.  I covered a shoebox with white paper and we went through our craft supplies to find just the right things he could use.  He was sold on the glitter glue.  As far as I was concerned, I was thrilled with whatever he might want to create.  He was very methodical with the glue and made sure he used an even amount of every color.  After decorating it with glue we pulled out all of our Valentine stickers and he decorated the sides of the box.  I couldn't believe how long he sat and was engaged with the project!!  It was so very fun for me - he was at the table long enough for me to take pictures!  Here is his masterpiece.
