The first snow last week was a bit of a tease.

Flakes were falling and William was glued to the window watching them. Eventually he had to touch them just to make sure they were real.

This morning it was the real thing. The trees were covered, the last rose blooms were blanketed and we couldn't see the grass. Now that is a real snowfall.
I love the first snow of the year but I must admit I enjoy watching it fall more. Waking up to it is a marvelous surprise as well but there is something magical about watching it fall and everything slowly disappearing. I didn't even know it was supposed to snow last night so when I woke up (on the couch after a night of coughing), it was to the kids jumping out of their slippers with excitement. Everyone wore their snow boots to school and Erin even got to wear her new snow pants at recess.
It was a good day.
