Snow Day!

It started snowing about 1 pm today and didn't stop until around 8 pm. I shoveled the driveway three times between 4 and 8:30 and I am guessing it will need another shoveling in the morning. Kathleen came over tonight to create the annual gingerbread house with the kids (see next entry) but was held up due to the awful weather.  Erin came out to play with Allison while Christine and I shoveled our driveways. William wanted nothing to do with it - he was happy to curl up on the couch with a blanket and watch 'Max & Ruby' (our current favorite over here). He is a smart little man! Erin and Allison had a ball playing outside since there was lots of snow and it was still coming down hard and fast. By the time I finished shoveling the whole driveway it was time to start over again. Simply amazing!! It was beautiful & I was glad I didn't have to drive anywhere. They were reporting commute times of over 2 hours and 40 minutes into the city (with no traffic it would take about 20 minutes). In fact, the traffic reporter on NPR said the travel time from Woodfield into the city (almost 5 hours) was the longest she had ever seen in her career. We are all snug inside tonight.
