One, wiggle wiggle wiggle. Two, wiggle wiggle wiggle. Three, wiggle wiggle wiggle.

Erin lost her first tooth tonight.  I can tell you it has been a LONG road.

I was surprised last year when her bottom two teeth popped out and the first two baby teeth were still in there.  This lasted over a year since it has now been documented at two different dental visits.  Last week Dr. Grandinetti told her the bottom two teeth should be out by New Year's and she would have to crank up the wiggling.  Her pain threshold is pretty low so it seemed every time she got to wiggling she would stop because it hurt.

Tonight we were tickling on the couch and I asked her to come over to I could see her progress.  One of the bottom ones was definitely more wiggly than the others.  I asked if I could wiggle it a bit and she agreed reluctantly.  I admit I didn't flick it very hard downward and it literally popped out!  She shrieked and grabbed her mouth as I saw it sail through the air across the couch.  She started crying that I had hurt her and I kept exclaiming "It is out! It came out!"  it took her a second to have that message arrive at her brain.  She stopped screaming and touched the spot where her tooth was and quickly shifted to ecstatic!  Then all three of us are scurrying around, shaking out blankets, moving the coffee table looking for the tooth.  Low and behold we found it on the floor.

It didn't go under her pillow tonight because she wants to show it to her teacher (how many kids want to do that, seriously?) tomorrow. She promptly got on her computer and emailed the whole family, along with a picture of her with her missing tooth!!  I asked if she'd let me at the second one on the bottom but she wouldn't have it.....maybe in a couple of days!
