Painting - Mom finally said 'Yes'!

I must admit that when I first had Erin I was happy to do all sorts of messy projects, glue, paint, etc. but now with two children I do it less often. Paint especially. The other day I finally gave in after we had been cooped up in the house for over a week and it was a HUGE hit. William was the most appreciative and had the best time (probably because he has only done this a few times in his life). They made about 8 posters of finger painting, many of which are tacked onto the guest room door in preparation for a visit from Grammy and Pa.
William loved the textures and how the paint changed colors as he mixed. He really doesn't get into coloring and gluing like his sister so it was very fun to see him so 'into' a project. It reminded me of when Erin was his age and would carefully paint with her brushes. She would rarely get her hands 'dirty' in the paint. Now it is a pleasure. Despite the long clean up it was worth every minute of fun and reminds me that I must do this more often to encourage my budding artists.
