"Oldies" Day at Pierce Downer

At Pierce Downer the Student Council has designated certain dress up days over the course of the year. I am sure this is common to most elementary schools but it is a new concept to us. Two weeks ago it was "oldies" day. Try explaining that to a kindergartener. The teacher must have reminded them in class the day before because when they came out of school one of Erin's friends told her mom "we have to wear something old to school tomorrow"!!

Erin and I settled on my poodle skirt that was made for me by Grandma Loftus many years ago. It was still a bit big on her but we pinned it and she was thrilled. She looked so darling. She even let me put her hair in a ponytail - usually she is adverse to anything in her hair. Erin was the only one in her class in a poodle skirt and she thought it was terrific.
