We were fortunate to have a fun filled weekend. We visited the COSI Museum our first day where we had some underground adventures, sat in a submarine, played with water, saw some super cool geckos, held a big ol' snake, drove a lunar lander, and ran through a crazy tunnel more than a dozen times!
Sunday, day two, after an amazing breakfast downstairs we went to the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium. Considering it was about 20 degrees outside, it was empty! We did see a handful of animals but spent the bulk of our time in the three inside exhibits - the bears, the reptiles and the aquarium. Highlights included Jim conversing with a stingray, power walking through the outdoor exhibits, watching the bears wrestle, eating a skimpy (yet pricey) lunch, and the big amazing fish at the aquarium.
Sunday afternoon we swam and then enjoyed dinner out at a Beatty family favorite, Max & Erma's. The original restaurant is in Columbus and used to be an old fashioned bar. We had a blast and the kids really enjoyed the 'make your own sundae bar'! After our children served themselves (and William over-served himself the mini M&M's) a server was overheard saying "I didn't know we were out of mini M&M's!". The adults at our table just laughed knowing they shouldn't have been out & it was because of William!!
Highlights for the adults were the very happy children, lots of wine (for the adults), football, the Golden Globes (what is up with NP's psycho laugh?), Apples to Apples and adjoining rooms!
It was a super fun vacation - I think we might have even topped our Cleveland trip. Now where will we go next year?? We have to go somewhere with a factory tour!
Enjoy the slideshow.....and thanks to the McLaughlin-Levine's for their patience!
