William crashed his bike (he is on two wheels now) into Erin on Sunday the 18th. It was a freak accident and no one is really sure what he did or how he crashed to cause such an injury. After a trip to the ER we found out the tip of his finger was broken and required 5 stitches. He was really a champ during the whole process. I can't imagine how painful it was since the cut was so deep and right on the tip of his finger! Once the ibuprofen started working he relaxed and "my worst day in my life" became "my best day ever". The best day included a ride on the hospital bed to X-ray, his first X-ray and a ride out in a wheel chair. He was fascinated by all of the 'trappings' of the hospital. He was even mellow about being put in the 'papoose' for his stitches. The shot that numbed his finger was awful, but once it was numb he was very interested in the stitches and everything the dr. was doing.
This picture is a week later - we are finally trying to live part of the day with out all the bandages and let it air out a bit. He really prefers it to be wrapped up and I can't say that I blame him. The stitches come out this Saturday, May 1. The break will heal on its own since it is just the tip of the finger. He is anxious to get back to swimming next week.
